Depression & Low Mood Support
When life feels heavy, motivation disappears, and you’re running on empty — it can feel like you’re stuck in a hole you can’t climb out of. You don’t have to do this alone.
Support for when you’re running on empty — low motivation, numbness, heaviness, or losing interest in things you used to enjoy. We’ll work gently and practically to understand what’s driving the flatness or weight of low mood, and build steady, realistic tools that help you rebuild momentum — returning to more energy, connection, and forward movement.

You might be noticing…
If depression or low mood is taking hold, it can look like:
Feeling flat, numb, or emotionally “switched off”
Low energy, fatigue, or struggling to get going
Trouble sleeping (or waking with a busy mind)
Losing interest in things you used to enjoy
Withdrawing from people or wanting to be alone
Feeling worthless, guilty, or like you’re failing
Difficulty concentrating or making decisions
Sleep changes (too much / too little)
Feeling stuck — like nothing will change
Low mood isn’t laziness. It’s often a sign you’ve been carrying too much for too long.
A short overview of my approach — and how we move from stuckness to clarity.
How I help with depression & low mood
Depression can feel like your system has hit “shutdown” — not because you’re weak, but because something in you has been under strain for a long time.
Our work is about gently turning the lights back on — without pressure, shame, or forcing positivity.
We focus on three things:
Stabilise first: support your nervous system, sleep, and daily rhythm
Understand the roots: what’s driving the low mood (stress, loss, meaning, burnout, self-talk, isolation)
Rebuild momentum: small, realistic steps that bring energy and connection back online
What we’ll work on
A simple, practical approach — focused on stability, reconnection, and momentum.
Stabilise and steady
Help your nervous system feel safer and more supported, so daily life is less overwhelming.
Make sense of the low mood
Explore what’s underneath the depression — patterns, beliefs, losses, stress load, and the story you’ve been carrying.
Rebuild momentum
Create a gentle plan that fits real life: self-care that’s doable, better boundaries, tools for thoughts, and steps toward meaning again.

FAQs
A few common questions — and simple answers.
What if I don’t feel motivated to do anything?
That’s common with low mood. We start small — stabilising and reducing pressure — then build momentum gradually
What if I’m worried about suicidal thoughts?
If you’re in immediate danger or feel unsafe, it’s important to access urgent support right away (call emergency services or a crisis line). In sessions, we can also talk safely about what’s going on and put the right supports in place.
What if I feel panicky during the session?
That’s okay. We go at your pace, and we’ll use grounding/regulation tools to help your system settle
Is this online or in-person?
Sessions are online, so it’s private and easy to fit into real life — wherever you are in New Zealand
How many sessions do people usually do for depression and low mood?
It varies. Some people want a short reset, others prefer ongoing support. We’ll set a pace that fits your goals and your life.
What if I’ve tried therapy before and it didn’t help?
That’s common. We’ll look at what didn’t work last time and take a practical, client-centred approach that fits you.
What if I’m “not that bad” — is it still okay to reach out?
Yes. You don’t need to wait until it gets worse. Early support is often the most effective.
Is it confidential?
es. Your privacy is taken seriously, and sessions are held in a safe, respectful, confidential way.
