I’m so glad you’ve found your way here. As a counselor based in beautiful Aotearoa (New Zealand), I’m excited to kick off this blog as a space where we can talk openly and honestly about mental health, well-being, and everything in between.

We all know life can be challenging at times, and no one should have to navigate it alone. This blog is all about helping each other find tools, tips, and insights that can support you through tough moments, build resilience, and help you thrive.

How to Handle Big Emotions: We all have days when emotions can feel overwhelming. In future posts, we’ll chat about practical ways to manage those feelings, whether it’s stress at work or the challenges of balancing whānau (family) life.

 

Dealing with Stress and Anxiety: Feeling stressed is pretty common, but it doesn’t have to take over your life. We’ll explore ways to ease the pressure and get back to feeling more like yourself.

 

Understanding and Coping with Depression: Depression is a tough topic but a very real part of many people’s lives. We’ll cover what it’s really like to live with depression, how to recognize the signs, and ways to seek support, whether for yourself or someone you care about.

 

Self-Care and Mindfulness—Kiwi Style: Self-care isn’t just about bubble baths (though those can be nice!). We’ll chat about ways you can take care of yourself, including mindfulness practices you can do while out exploring New Zealand’s stunning natural landscapes.

 

Mental Health Myths—Busted!: Mental health can sometimes feel like a bit of a taboo subject, but we’re here to bust some common myths and encourage more open, honest conversations about well-being.

 

Healing from Trauma: Life isn’t always easy, and many of us carry heavy stuff from our past. We’ll talk about what trauma is, how it can affect us, and what healing looks like—especially with the support of whānau and community.
